With a stay in Valencia, Spain, from 15 to 20 June our time with PEPP (sadly) came to an end. All the participants were eager to spend a wonderful (albeit very warm) week in this beautiful and lively city and explore it together.
This week’s academic programme once again covered a wide variety of topics, including enterprise foundations, international tax standards and EU laws on Whistleblowing. It was enriched by the final presentations of the participant’s PhD dissertations.
In addition to the lectures, we were invited to visit two of the biggest Spanish law firms where we gained valuable insights into their work in the fields of private international law and litigation. One highlight of the week was undoubtedly the guided tour of the Port of Valencia, which included an introduction to the customs of trade negotiations.
On the final days of our stay in Valencia, we were able to present our analysis of the moot court case. As we had already prepared the arguments in Cambridge, we focused on the presentation and rhetoric strategy during a trial run. On Friday, the official moot court took place in front of a Spanish jury – congratulation to the winners of the awards!
In our free time, we visited the glorious beaches of Valencia, enjoyed Spanish music, and indulged in the delicious local cuisine.
We already hope to reunite with each other and perhaps visit one of the other beautiful cities participating in PEPP.
