From 20 – 24 April this year´s PEPPers reunited in the marvellous city of Cambridge for the third week of the programme. Having already built strong friendships during the previous meetings in Münster and Zagreb, participants were more than excited to spend another PEPP week together.
The rich academic programme featured a wide range of lectures and interactive seminars, covering topics from European legal history and comparative legal analysis, to contemporary developments and debates in law, including AI. Several sessions were also devoted to critical and thought provoking issues such as trade wars, modern slavery and business and human rights.
Furthermore, the next set of participants had the valuable opportunity to present their PhD projects to the European audience, gaining fresh perspectives through engaging and insightful discussions. Also, the preparation for the traditional PEPP Moot Court, taking place in the final week in Valencia, started with the distribution of this year´s case and a first analysis of each group´s position.
On Thursday evening participants experienced another highlight of the week: the Formal Dinner at Gonville & Caius College – an occasion that will undoubtedly remain a lasting memory.
Beyond the academic programme, the group had great fun punting on the river Cam and hiking through the picturesque countryside. At the same time, they explored more challenging aspects of the University´s past by an “Uncomfortable Cambridge Walking Tour”.
As the week once again flew by, participants are already very much looking forward to reuniting for the final week in Valencia this June.
